Shocker Pie Frame Compatibility

This page lists compatibility between the Nummech Pie frame and most Shocker/Nerve parts available over the years. The high number of aftermarket upgrades makes it impossible to support EVERYTHING, but Nummech did their best to support as many parts as possible. Many Shocker/Nerve parts can be used after some modification (described on this page), while some other parts cannot be used.
Frame Pins:
SFT powerswitch actuator pin & board/microswitch pins:
Powerswitch actuator & board pins
Pie frames use the same board/microswitch and powerswitch actuator pins as Shocker SFTs and Nerves. Board pins are 5/64" diameter X 3/4" length; powerswitch actuator pins are 1/16" diameter X 3/4" length made from magnetic steel (alloy steel or 400-series stainless steel). Additionally, Pie frame's trigger stop is contained using a pair of 1/16" diameter pins, same as the powerswitch actuator pin.
Pie frame trigger pin:
Pie frame trigger pin
Pie frames use a 1/8" diameter pin with a length of 0.675". This is NOT the same as a Shocker SFT trigger pin (which is shorter). Ion/Epiphany trigger pins can be used to substitute, but they are slightly longer and would need to be filed/grinded down.
Shocker NXT threaded pins:
Not compatible unless you hand-tap the frame for your own threaded pin. You can do this on your own, but it isn't supported by Nummech.
Triggers:
SFT-style triggers generally offer better compatibility because Pie frames were made to utilize factory SFT adjustments (pre-travel, post travel, etc). Triggers that use redesigned adjustments may not be compatible. Most NXT triggers will work, but many will not have a pre-travel adjustment unless they use a vertical set screw. Pie frames do not use the factory NXT pre-travel adjustment, so their adjustability is not as good with NXT triggers.
Almost all triggers will need to be shortened on their back ends. This modification is permanent, but the trigger will still work factory frames later.

SFT stock trigger and most private label SFT triggers:
Trigger stop modification for SFT-style triggers
Trigger backside modification for SFT-style triggers
Trigger backside modification for SFT-style triggers
Compatible after a two-step modification. First, the Pie frame's "trigger stop" must be filed down to allow the trigger a full swing. Second, the back of the trigger must also be filed down because it usually hits the microswitch instead of the firing point set screw hitting the microswitch. Use a file/grinder to perform these modifications. If you have a bench vise available, hold the part between pieces of wood and use a hacksaw and/or file to remove material.
Note: Pie frames ship with a longer pre-travel set screw that can be used with Smart Parts triggers. The screw is threaded #4-48.
NXT stock trigger and most private label NXT triggers:
(no picture...yet)
Compatible, however most triggers will have a short swing because the trigger hits the Pie frame's trigger stop. Shorten the back end of the trigger using a file/grinder. If you have a bench vise available, hold the part between pieces of wood and use a hacksaw and/or file to remove material.
Most NXT triggers will no longer have a pre-travel adjustment because the Pie frame does NOT use the NXT frame's pre-travel stop.
Use the trigger's bottom-most set screw hole for a post-travel adjustment, and use the second-down set screw hole for a firing point adjustment (same as stock frames).
General NXT aftermarket triggers:
(no picture...yet)
These triggers are compatible after the same modification as stock/PL NXT triggers. These triggers will allow your Pie frame to have a pre-travel adjustment just like a Shocker SFT trigger.
- CP Shocker rake trigger for NXT
- CP Shocker sling trigger for NXT
- Violent series Shocker NXT trigger
- Critical Impact trigger for NXT
- New Designz slik tirgger for NXT (note: no pre-travel adjustment set screw)
General SFT aftermarket triggers:
Trigger stop modification for SFT-style triggers
Trigger backside modification for SFT-style triggers
These triggers are compatible after the same modification as stock/PL SFT triggers (modify the Pie trigger stop and the trigger's back end).
- New Designz Shocker SFT triggers (RIP, wave, roller blade, roller slik)
- Critical Impact trigger for SFT
CP trigger for Shocker SFT:
Not compatible. Custom Products SFT triggers use a smaller bearing (meant to be used with CP's special screw/nut system) which is not the same size as the Pie frame trigger pin. The only way to use a CP trigger is to press out the bearing and replace it with a 1/8" bushing.
Lower circuit boards:
Shocker/Nerve lower boards:
Stock lower board
All Shocker SFT, Shocker NXT, and Nerve boards are compatible. Powerswitch actuators are compatible. Upper board and solenoids are compatible. Eye ribbons are compatible.
Etek LT boards:
no picture...for now
Compatible, but only after a special factory modification. All Pie frames are milled so they can hold Etek boards, however you will need to have the frame drilled on the backside for button/LED holes, which carries an extra cost. Contact Nummech to inquire about the retrofit service.
After an Etek LT board is installed, the marker will no longer use an upper board, eye ribbon, or powerswitch actuator.
Bottomline ASA adapters:
Pie frames use the same type of bottomline as a Shocker NXT frame made by Smart Parts. There are four(4) #10-32 threaded screw holes for bolt-on adapters, and teh same screw holes can be used for mounting a dovetail ASA.
#10-32 screw "bolt on" ASAs, rails, and drop forwards:
Bolt-on drop forward
Virtually all bolt-on bottomline adapters should be compatible without any modification. The frame has multiple #10-32 holes spaced 3/8" apart from one-another, allowing several different mounting positions depending on your preference.
Direct-mount dovetail ASAs:
New Designz direct-mount on/off ASA adapter
Dovetail ASAs are compatible, however different manufacturers use slightly different dovetail sizes, because there is no published specification for ASA dovetails. Loose-fitting ASAs may not be secure when mounted on the frame. There is no way to know ahead of time! (this is why the dovetail rail has been abandonned by many manufacturers in current times).
The Pie frame's dovetail is made to the exact same specs as Smart Parts equipment. If your ASA fits on a Shocker NXT frame, it will very likely work with a Pie frame just the same.
The following dovetails have been verified to fit nicely: New Designz, Custom Products, Smart Parts. Others are likely to fit, but aren't verified.
T-slot ASAs:

T-rail mounts aren't directly compatible; you will need to use a "screw to T-rail" adapter that is available with most Eclipse ASAs.
Grip panels and wraps:
45-style grip panels and wraps:
SP ProTouch grips
Pie frames use the same grips as Shocker/Nerve frames, and are compatible with other 45-style grip panels and wraps. However, some grips might leave a small gap under the trigger microswitch. This gap is created because the frames are more extensively milled on the inside to allow compatibility with any Shocker lower board. If needed, the gap can be filled with a piece of wadding to prevent debris from entering.
Vertical adapters:
This is where things become complicated. Shocker SFT, Shocker NXT, and Nerve bodies all use different vertical adapter positions; therefore, the Pie frame will be compatible with certain vertical adapters, but it depends on the marker.
