Overview:
Since the beginning Smart Parts has sold a special type of tank-mounted regulator system called the Max-Flo. These aren't screw-in tanks, they're instead designed to be mounted to the gun and removed only when necessary. This is difficult to explain to those that aren't familiar, so I'll just use a FAQ approach.
Q: Can I use a preset tank with this?
A: All HPA tanks have a regulator on them, it's just a question of how it looks and how it connects to the gun. Max-Flo tank systems can be compared to other tanks in that they have their own reg as well, only difference is it's not made to be screwed into an ASA.
Q: What am I getting when I buy this?
A: It depends on what you're paying for. At the moment you can purchase both the assembled reg/tank, or just the reg for use with your own tank.
Q: Can I use any tank with this reg, from my current preset HPA system?
A: Yes, all HPA tanks are threaded the same, however you may have trouble removing the tank from the current reg.
Q: How do I switch the tank to another gun?
A: The Max-Flo system isn't meant to be easily switched to a different gun as easily as a screw-in tank. You'll have to unscrew the reg from the current gun and tighten it to the new one, as if you were switching bottomline setups.
Q: Do I need Loctite or teflon tape on the tank threads?
A: No, and you don't need them for any other tank either.
Versions:
There have been many versions of the system over the years, and instructions and maintenance is slightly different for each successive model. Go here for a comparison guide.
