The bottomline regulator on an Invert Mini marker isn't universal and limits you to using the stock reg only. Or, possibly an aftermarket regulator that will be produced in the future, specifically for use on the Mini. Either way, you can't just slap on a regular ASA and use it.
My solution to this was to modify a Max-Flo Inline reg system to function on the marker in the same capacity as the stock parts. This means an integrated setup that pressurizes the marker without using pressurized hoses.
Without going into a lot of explaniation, this is what I did. The MF-I system mounts to the bottomline of the marker using the stock dovetail fitting. I drilled a shallow hole down through the top of the MF-I housing, inside which an o-ring will sit. I drilled a smaller diameter hole further down, which crosses into the output section of the regulator, allowing regular output air to pass into the Mini's frame air chamber like normal.
The light yellowish part in that diagram is the only new component I had to make, which is used to connect the frame air chamber with the MF-I housing below it. As stated a new o-ring is used to seal the two parts and make them compatible.
This doesn't have too many benefits, but was a fun custom job regardless. It decreased the length of the tank setup by a short amount, weight ends up being similar or possibly a little more, but it's pretty close either way. It also adds a tank shutoff capability, which I missed with the stock reg. The MF-I performs a bit better (and is MUCH easier to clean) than the stock reg, which was the main reason I wanted to perform this mod.
